I have a Samsung flat panel tv, not sure of the model. I bought it at a garage sale last summer for cheap and use it in my garage. It works great in the summer but when it gets less than 60 degrees or less it makes a knocking noise and flickers off and on for a while until it warms up. The colder it is the longer it takes to warm up. The sound does not flicker. Any suggestions?

Solution
Probably a loose or cracked metal component in the video circuitry.

As the TV heats up the metal expands and the connection tightens.

May or may not be able to open up the flat panel and find the problem. Not likely to be visible unless it is some screwed down connection (loose screw) or slotted card that is loose and reseating it fixes the problem.

Trying to open and fix may just cause something pending failure to fail.....
