Solved! TV loses video & audio intermittently

My Sony Wega KFWS60S1 (a DLP) will go black all of the sudden, losing video and audio. I can see that it is still turned on, but it essentially loses functionality when these black outs happen. This lasts for about 30 seconds and when it returns, the video is revived first and then the audio.

When I first noticed this problem about a month ago, it would occur roughly once an hour. Now it seems to happen every 2 or 3 minutes. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Could be a power supply problem but that's not the only possible cause. You would need a tech to go through the TV. Parts are likely to be unavailable after 8 years so it may be time to get a new TV. That's an LCD rear projector not a DLP.
