[citation][nom]serra[/nom]The military is protecting you from someone like Hitler or Stalin from invading this country and getting rid of our Constitution.[/citation]
Those ridiculous threats have never existed. Hitler and Stalin were not enemies because they wanted to "invade this country and get rid of our constitution". They cared as much about our constitution as did Bush, so why wasn't he considered an enemy of the state?

[citation][nom]ReggieRay[/nom]You should not be on those sites anyway if on duty. Buy your own computer and do it off duty.[/citation]
Maybe they ARE doing it off duty, but still on base. Did you think of that? Not that the article really explains what is going on either. They were blocking certain bandwidth-hogging sites in Japan to alleviate bandwidth strain on the beleaguered nation's network.

Regardless, sensational headline FTL.

[citation][nom]aaron88_7[/nom]the country is still run by fervent Christians that make it their duty to discriminate against all non-Christians, especially Muslims.[/citation]The Pres and most of Congress don't fit the bill of "fervent Christians" by any stretch. You're full of it. I don't see your Imperious Leader doing anything different from his predecessor, unless racking up way MORE debt while talking down to states that are trying to balance their budgets counts. Furthermore, there are a crapton of fervent Muslims that want all Jews wiped off the face of the Earth, along with America. If wanting to protect your country from rabid, radical Islam (Death to the Great Satan! Kill the Infidels!) makes you discriminatory, then I hope we have a whole lot of discriminating people here.
[citation][nom]aaron88_7[/nom]Those ridiculous threats have never existed. Hitler and Stalin were not enemies because they wanted to "invade this country and get rid of our constitution".[/citation]You're an idiot. It doesn't matter why they wanted to take over the world or crush their enemies (America included). The fact is that if they succeeded, the Constitution, our government, etc would have been destroyed in the process. Maybe we should use diplomacy, try to APPEASE our enemies! Oh wait, other countries tried that and got smushed.

Sorry, I said "Like" those people who did invade other and take the rights away from the people who they invaded. I never meant to imply that Stalin or Hitler had any chance of actually invading THIS county. There simply wasn't a more current example, since the invasion of 1812, when we were invaded by a county who would have taken our constitution away had they won.

They cared as much about our constitution as did Bush, so why wasn't he considered an enemy of the state?
Live under a rock much? Bush was compared to Hitler all of the time. Where where you when that was going on?

Thanks for proving my point about the radical religious right ruling this country and walking all over the constitution that is intended to protect all religions, not just Christianity. If you would look for reliable sources that don't include Fox news and your pasture then surely you would know that the vast majority of Muslims are completely peaceful and decent people. The same, unfortunately, cannot be said about Christians.

[citation][nom]alextheblue[/nom]You're an idiot.[/citation]Pot calling the kettle black? Surely someone as ingenious as yourself could find a more thoughtful way of arguing rather than resorting to childish name calling, right?

Half you guys don't know what you're talking about. I'm in afghan right now, and everybody bypasses crap. Nobody cares. You would have to be in a really strict unit to have somebody say something to you.

@Wild I don't agree with afghan or iraq I think it's freaking stupid. I knew what i was getting into though as I joined while it was going on. I do think we should pull out theirs no point. At least in libya their people are fighting and dieing for their freedoms.

Also there is no war on our borders. The drug war is not a freaking war. To classify it as such just means you put us in a war that is unwinnable. Just like afghan and iraq. You kill one another just takes the place.

Although I would have no issue of them putting more into border control. This country is only so big.

I'm reading the evolution of this conversation and wondering how we actually go from certain web sites being blocked to a grammar argument to U.S. troops protecting our southern border from drug dealers or illegals? Which would be illegal by the way, because of the Posse Comitatus Act. The only military service that can act like a military under Federal control is the Coast Guard.

Bush was as bad as Hitler, he started a war that ended up killing millions just to get back at one guy who tried to kill his father. How is that any different than what other violent dictators would like to do given the capability?

[citation][nom]shanky887614[/nom]proxy anyone?[/citation]

Yea, that would work. But,I think if you get caught, they would probably put you in a can somewhere with no communication until the end of your service term. Your not a civilian on a civilian network, the military doesn't mess around with insubordination.

Also, that would only work until they get pissed and start packet sniffing for certain protocols. Again, not a civilian network, they can monitor anyway they want.

I agree with the idea of blocking these sites & maybe more...I noticed on one of my older computers after being online for approximately 1 1/2 weeks that when I went to eBay & after logging off from eBay that my computer was around 1/5 slower than before I went to eBay...That pc was an amd build which I share now with others, but this pc that I have online now is a intel build which I made just recently & has not slowed down yet...

I have one more thing to add & that is that I have made another pc for going to eBay,PayPal & maybe internet banking sites & I am about to go online soon with this one also...This is just so my normal surfing pc won't be slowed down by eBay's spyware etc...
