unlimited data for phone?

hello so i just had an idea. my girlfriend pays $2 a day and get unlimited data/calls/texts. but she cannot use personal hotspot (because the plan won't let her, instead theres an alternative of same plan but with 500mb of data and personal hotspot compatibility) so we can't download stuff or use it for internet with the built in personal hotspot feature. what if i were to put in a third party pieces of software for person hotspot e.g jailbreaking and installing the software.

would i then perhaps be able to get unlimited data?

i guess what what im saying is does the plan only stop the built in support personal hotspot or all hotspots
