I'm trying to salvage my Asus k50ij. It has an Intel t4500. After some research, I found that the socket can fit an Intel q9100. (though it has higher TDP.)

I successfully installed it, applied paste, made sure that the fans are working.

I turned it on and it boots to BIOS, including all the systems and the menus inside the bios.

However, when it moves to load Windows 10, it freezes on the Windows 10 Logo.

What could be the source of the issue?

Cheers,

Solution
It looks like you didn't properly configure your BIOS to accept your new CPU.
Try CMOS reset first, see if it solves your problem.

Maybe bad installation media. Did you get any BSOD or any error codes?
Or maybe bad RAM, swap your RAM to another slot or replace the broken one.

Try the solution above, then report back. :)
