Solved! Use TV as Monitor

I'm trying to use a TCL Roku TV S-Series as a computer monitor. I have it hooked up using an HDMI cable and the tv will not recognize my computer. I've tried going into NVIDIA Control Panel and set up multiple displays. Is this something you can help with?

On my TV, when I plug in a laptop, I have to use the remote to tell the set which of four HDMI options to use. Does your remote have an Input button?

The TV and laptop have to "handshake". The order you boot the laptop and choose the HDMI input you connected it to will affect that. Change the order.
The video resolution of the HDMI output of the laptop also has to be compatible with the TV. Try changing that in the laptop.
