Video Driver No Display just lines.

Hello I have an HP Nc6400 Notebook, it used to work fine but one day when I was watching a movie, the display went black, i restarted and it worked that day, after it whenever I turned on my computer it worked for 5 mins and after that then screen used to go black, but now whenever I install my video driver (Radeon ATI) My screen turns up, and it doesnt show anything but weird lines. GG.

Sounds like your Video chip has failed. Have you tried to connect to an external monitor when the screen is black ( may just be inverter) but with the lines you are describing, it's more than likely the Video has failed. only way to fix is to replace the motherboard.

does it work somewhat alright in safemode?

It works fine in Safe mod. What I have understood is the software/driver problem.

Would be a big favor if anybody can find ATI's old drivers.
