VM: Windows guest, Linux host. Unity/Seamless mode is possible?

Is there any way to run a windows guest in unity/seamless mode, on a linux host? Maybe with an older version of VMware or VirtualBox?

Specifically, I would like to run a windows 10 x64 guest, on a linux mint x64 host.

As long as you install Guest Additions on the guest OS this should just work. Do you get any messages in the log when you try?
