[citation][nom]Jane McEntegart[/nom]In case you're wondering, the disks and packaging sent to WB are processed and used for future packaging.[/citation]
Just a minor correction for folks who might be interested, this program does not require you to mail in the packaging of the old movies; all you need is the old DVD.

Also, you get free shipping if you mail in about 7 of them at a time (spend $35 or more to upgrade). Unfortunately, you shouldn't expect to receive your new Blu-Ray movies for at least a month, but at least it ships faster than the sham-wow you bought on that infommercial!

But... I bought my sham-wow local...

I only have troy on DVD so its not worth the cost of a blu-ray player. Maybe in the future they will expand this to include VHS and by then I may have a blu-ray player. I have Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, Beetlejuice, The Fugitive, The Mask, and Eraser on VHS.

Why would I pay for movies that I already own just because is a different format? And on top of that most of this titles do not benefit from blu-ray. I said that this is a SCAM from WB.

Whoever bought 10,000bc on dvd wasted their money, what a joke. Really where is the matrix, I agree, I would send in all of those too.

If you can't tell the different between blu-ray and dvd that is your problem or you don't see well. I found two movies on the list that I have both for dvd and blu-ray and it is night and day if you have a lcd tv. Where for the picture tube set blends the image better.

Sounds like a good deal unless you have a spare HDDVD player around. You get BR quality for about $2.00 per disc online for almost all WB titles.

I doubt it. I imagine they would have already done something similar with VHS to DVD. I haven't used a VHS in years.

That assumes everyone buys DVDs for stories instead of some cheap action flick to play in the background every once in a while.

Be sure to read the program rules. I work for the military outside of the US, so I'm out. Anybody with a PO box is out. And then, since one big deal with BD is the added special features, when they say you might have fewer or zero special features that's bad. "Might be different aspect ratio" - like you send in wide and get back full-screen.

Teknomedic, the site you want is http://red2blu.com/

Looks exactly the same but it is for exchanging HD-DVD for Blurays. Also instead of sedning in the discs you only need to send in the cover art.

This is a good program. Sure it costs money, but, at least it's minimal instead of making you fork out the entire purchase price of the blu ray after they already bought it once. The new model for video sales should hopefully be rights based, and not media based, hopefully that comes to pass some time.

That all depends on what their source is. If it's from the master they can very well benefit from Blu-ray. If it's from the DVD and just upconverted there's little benefit.
