I have been asked to source a laptop for my mum for christmas. I have no problem building a desktop myself but laptop specs often confuse me. I have two laptops i am looking at here. One has 4gb of ram and AMD dual core A6 processor - 2.9GHz.

The other has 8gb of RAM and an AMD Dual Core A4 processor. It will just be used mainly for facebook/facebook games and some word processing. Just trying to work out would she benifit more from the increased RAM more than the increased processor speed.

I think CPU would probobly benifit her more but would just like to get a second opinion.

Here are the two computers for your reference.

I would say either CPU will be more then adequate for your mothers FB/FB-Games but I would also say that 8gb RAM is far better then 4gb.

Edit: Both of your links go to the same LT. Depending on how much it would cost to buy another 4gb stick of mem, you may want to A6 CPU & expand that LT to 8gb RAM.

laptop with A6 processor is better even though it only has half the RAM of the other model it will be enough for daily activities...it will be nice investment in future ...as you have option for expanding ,i would have opted it
GOOD LUCK
