Hi,

I am not sure of the codec with smart TVs but it sounds like yours could probably need updating. I don't like smart TVs myself as they seem redundant if you have any other device connected but I would personally update yours and then check to see if you have the same issue

Smart TV capability goes out the window when you hook up a PC.
Your smart TV is not so smart once you run any app or browser requiring Flash player codec.
There are Beta updates that address issues in Chrome and Firefox.
My Samsung had this issue where the TV would suddenly detect no signal from my PC and I had to restart my PC to get it back.
Since the Beta codecs were updated I have no more problem.

Codecs can be got from here: http://www.free-codecs.com/adobe_flash_player_download.htm
Or here: http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/flashplayer.html
Worth a try and hope it helps.

Were you able to install browsers such as Firefox on yours?

Apparently it can handle many video files, like .avi and .mkv, so I may not need to install VLC, but there's nothing on the manual about installing stuff like other browsers, and I still don't understand what OS it's running.
