Yeah, that's what I thought, but the dual-core is a newer CPU, and comes with the more expensive Xperia T, so I was wondering. I eventually decided to drop 'em both and go with the Xperia Z that has a 1.5GHz quad-core, so all is well. Thanks for the response anyway

I think the Qualcomm will be faster. The arcitecture is far better, and the MT6589 does not perform very well in benchmarks.

Especially with the GHz rating, I stand by that.

Basically, MediaTek is like AMD.

Qualcomm is like Intel.

An Intel dual core can outperform an AMD 8-core in many instances.

It's not cut and dry.
