Which would be better for budget gaming? An Intel pentium quad core, or an i3 dual core

I am currently looking into buying a new laptop with more power, but there seems to be a blur between the dual core i3 and the quad core pentium. So I was wondering if I could get a quick answer on which is better suited for gaming, as on some websites it say the i3 however on reviews and game spec recommendations it say a quad core

The i3 is way way way stronger than a mobile quad core Pentium.

Of course in a laptop, the video card is what really matters. If you plan on using the igpu, I recommend AMD.
