I recently noticed that the wi-fi icon on my new Nexus 7 appears in orange for 2 seconds, after being connected to a network and then becomes white again. It is not a problem, since it connects without any problems, however it seems curious to me why this happens? Any idea? This happens ever since I bought the tablet. It runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat). Turning airplane mode on/off didn't change anything. Should I worry about anything in the future? Thank you.

This means it has not connected to google services, it is an indicator that even though you are connected, your tablet can't access the internet for a few seconds. It is perfectly normal.
