will a screen fix my phone it wont light up

Yesterday I dropped my Samsung Galaxy S3 and I can turn it on the bottom screen bottons will light up but the screen will not it stays black i cant unlock it and turn sound up to try to here it I cant trade it cause ill loose all my pictures and stuff if I buy a new screen will that fix it pls help me thanks
