I've seen questions asked here quite a few times about SD card speeds,
but not capacities. If one buys one of the new 1Gb SD cards, is there
any risk that one's camera will turn out not to support anything larger
than (say) 256 Mb? I ask because I've hit similar problems on more than
one occasion with other technologies. For example I have a spindle of
800Mb CD-Rs on my desk, but my CD-burning software refuses to believe
that any CD-R will take more than 700 Mb of data. And, going back a bit,
720KB floppy drives couldn't use 1440KB floppies (though you could
format 1440 to be 720).
My camera is a Minolta Z10, so I'd like to know if anyone has used one
of these with a 1Gb card. But more generally: will every SD card work
with every SD-card-using camera?
