I am looking to purchase a Lenovo Y40: http

However it does not have a VGA output. Problem is my external monitor only has a VGA input.
I went onto ebay and found a converter (see below).
But word on the street is they don't work. I thought the converter should convert the digital HDMI signal into an analog one.
If the one i linked does not work, then does anyone have suggestions on an HDMI to VGA converter that DOES work (links are appreciated as well)
