Will continuously charging laptop effect the battery?

I have hp Pavilion G4 and i play high graphics games like modern warfare3 and black ops,etc and for this reason i have to keep my laptop plugged in for almost 6-8 hours a day.I have Li Ion battery in my laptop.My question is that will this activity of continuously charging laptop effect the battery?

It is not really bad to keep your battery plug into your laptop.. When a battery reaches 100% charged, it stops receiving charging power and this will go directly to the power supply system of the laptop.

However the disadvantage in keeping the battery plugged to your laptop is it may suffer from high temp or heat caused by laptop hardware.

But there are way to take care of your battery, aside from Manufacturer's recommendations on taking care of the battery, you may also refer on this:
