Will the ASUS G46VW power the Oculus Rift?

Hi there!
So I am all joyful today. Why? Because I just got myself the Asus G46VW for 410USD!
I am very happy with the price and the purchase. I wasn't looking for a laptop yesterday, but I've always needed one and when I bumped into this deal I couldn't resist (http/www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/id-2866012/wts-asus-g46vw-gaming-laptop-450.html
Pretty sweet, ah? )
Anyway, I am not expecting the gameplay with the consumer Rift will be like a desktop gaming PC, But I am just wondering if it will let me play with the full rift resolution at about medium-high settings with tolerable fps? Also, the monitor resolution of the computer itself doesn't limit the resolution of the rift, right?

Hi,

I'm not 100% sure that it will because according to the support page of Oculus it requires a Desktop PC to work with it with.

Requirements:
Desktop PC with Windwos 7 or 8
USB 2.0 ports
NVIDIA GTX 600 series or AMD Radeon HD 7000 series or better with DVI - D or HDMI graphics output.

Thanks. So it won't work at all? It seems pretty odd.. Isn't a desktop PC just recommended because it is stronger?

Why won't it work? It has the gtx 660m and 8gb ram. Will it not work at all, Work with very low fps with the native oculus resolution, or work quite well?
