Hello everyone.

Bit of a complex multipoint question.

I have a Yamaha RX-V577 A/V receiver I am going to use for surround sound. I also have a little dot MKIII headphone / preamp and a set of Fostex power studio monitors.

My questions are:

A) can I connect the powered studio monitor speakers via the RCA out (room B) on the receiver for listening to music? (Without blowing one or the other up)

B) can I connect the Little dot MKIII preamp to the receiver via RCA to RCA and listen to music as above.

I am aware that the Little dot needs an A/C coupled amp/receiver otherwise it can cause issues and possibly damage the equipment.

Thanks.

Looking at the back of your receiver there is an RCA AV output that should work fine for you. This output will not be DC coupled so no problem with the Little Dot.
That RCA out might be assignable to zone1 or 2 so check the receiver set up menu. You only need the zone 2 if you want different things to play at the same time.
