2 male 3.5 jacks to 1 female

Maby is a silly question but i bought new handsfree for my cellphone and there was a 2 male to 1 female jacks cable in the package. What i could use it for? I mean I understand why 1 male to 2 females is needed but with this I'm a bit confused!

what use it has depends on how many poles (rings) the 3.5mm plugs have.

a reverse splitter like that could be used for two devices to share the same output device such as a pair of speakers or perhaps your handsfree. this could be two phones or perhaps a phone as well as a gps device.
