Hello all!

I replaced a broken screen from a Sony A7SII and now the image display scrolls vertically non-stop. The ribbon is properly inserted and apart from this the camera functions as it should.

Here is a video of what is happening:

The ribbon connected to the camera looks a bit tired, don’t know if that could be the culprit.

I wanted to know if anyone would have tips on where to look to fix this.

Thank you in advance!

hiii! I have the same issue and this is the only post related I could find on the internet! My monitor started doing this randomly and it only does it in certain positions. Did you find a solution yet?

Oh boy. I feel your pain. I have the exact same camera and went through this very scenario. I also switched the settings to monitor only, in haste. I bought a monitor cable thinking that this would be a good temporary solution only to find it provides a video feed only with no way to access the settings or menu. I reached out on Reddit if someone could help me do a blind walk through in the menu, but no one was able to help (unless you have the exact model and version, the steps will be different). I ended up having the camera repaired by an engineer friend but it took quite some time to figure out if the problem was in the ribbon cable or the lcd itself, and also finding replacement parts took a while. So the good news is that it’s fixable, but I hope you’re good with extremely delicate parts replacement. I couldn’t do it.

I’m not near the camera now, but I’d be happy to walk through the steps to get that viewfinder back on! I’ll get back to you
