Hello, everyone.
My display had a red tint so I investigated. I discovered my LCD cable plug into the inverter had perished exposing bare wires. I have tried in vain to get a replacement. Acer doesn't have the part. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement please. Part number on cable is 50.4Z410.022. Thanks.

Yes it is a laptop, an (Acer Extensa 5630Z) and yes the LCD cable has to be specific to the model. I have tried Ebay but I can't find that cable Part number 50.4Z410.022

Thanks

UK Ta, yes I have looked at that but it isn't the same model number as previously stated in my thread to Alvine. (50.4Z410.022)

I had a red tint to the display of my laptop so I investigated.

I discovered that the LCD cable plug that connects to the inverter had perished therefore exposing the wiring.

I managed to get another LCD cable and inverter to fit but the display is dim. I tried a different inverter but stll the same. Can anyone tell me if the part umber on each LCD cable has to match exactly as the numbers are slightly different. The original is 50.4Z410.022 but the replacement ends in 012. Is this why the screen is still dim?? I have tried to order a replacement through Acer without success, they don't have it in stock.

Please help if you can??

Can you also help with this please?? The LCD cable comes with a connection for a webcam but the model doesn't have one fitted so I assume this just has to be taped up. I have a few similar LCD cables with different part numbers that fit but still the display is dim. I have tried 2 inverters also without success.

All this leads me to assume that only the exact model LCD cable will do. Does that all make sense??

yes that makes sense

usually when replacing the ribbon cables i try to get exactly the same part number

but trying to find 50.4Z410.022 is proving difficult

as you say there are some very similar model number cables that say they are for your model laptop

only the last digit is different

cant say for 100% certain only the exact model number will work as would have expected it to be more easily available as

its a common enough laptop model

check theres no little bits of dust or anything in the contacts--on both the motherboard and screen stopping it making a

clean connection

edit--could also try getting a faulty 5630z and using parts from it if its cheap enough
