Advent Monza T100 Won't power up using AC adaptor alone - requires battery also

Advent Monza T100 Won't power up using AC adaptor alone (battery light flashes red).Insert the battery press power button and starts ok but battery not charging. I then remove battery(to save charge which is at 90%) and laptop works fine by AC Adaptor alone. Same thing happens using another ac adaptor. any suggestions?

There's a few things that would cause something like that:
1. Dead battery
2. A faulty connection between the power board and the connector for the battery
3. A faulty/dead power board
4. Faulty socket for the AC connection

All of these should be pretty cheap as they are not too expensive parts.
You can get it repaired at a repair centre.
