After about 4 months of using this laptop, it seems to be running much hotter than usual after playing any sort of game. After playing a game of counterstrike I checked the temperatures using CPUID HWMonitor.
While playing the cores run (max) in the 90-91 C range while the nvidia 760m graphics card seems to max out at 79 C and the hard drive at 36 C. While idle, the cores run in the lower 40s, the graphics card at 44-45 C, and the hard drive seems to stay very stable (temperature wise) at 34-35 C while the fans seem to run at a max of 3700 rpm (idling at 2300 rpm)
I am wondering if these temperatures seem to be high and if they will affect the longevity of this laptop (both CPU and GPU wise). I am also wondering if these high temperatures may be the result of dust getting in the fans or a problem with the heat sink, or if these temperatures are normal for an Asus laptop. Finally, since these temperatures seem to be very high, would you recommend buying some sort of laptop cooling pad for gaming?
Thank you very much for your time.
