ASUS touchpad not scrolling with windows 10

I installed Win 10 and the touchpad is not scrolling at all, I have an ASUS X551MA laptop , also I noticed that the Smart Gesture is gone from the system, I tried to download the new one from Asus but is saying that I must install a file called AKAMAI, that is a complete unknown file to me and I'm afraid to download anything that might bring me viruses, is there any other way please? this is a headache!! thank you!

Did you go to Asus' official site to download the driver? I was not prompted to install Akamai when I attempted to download the touchpad driver for Win 10.

Try downloading the elan trackpad. That is what mine downloaded when I got the upgrade.

Hi,
I read somewhere else that this was fixed by first downloading the ATK file (for my x550JX: ATKPackage_Win10_64_VER100039.zip , from the official Asus support site), installing and restarting, then installing the smart gesture file (SmartGesture_WIN10_64_VER405.zip).

This worked for me. Best of luck.

first u have to uninstall from control panel ur version of ASUS Smart Gesture driver then download from here http/www.asus.com/Notebooks/X550JX/HelpDesk_Download/ the available version for win 10 and install. good luck

I uninstalled the ATK package > rebooted as directed > installed the latest ATK package (for my model) from the Asus website (ATKPackage_Win10_64_VER100050) > rebooted as directed > installed the latest Smart Gesture package (for my model) from the Asus website (SmartGesture_Win10_64_VER4016) > rebooted as directed. Viola! Fixed.

Just posting the direct links here, if this is allowed. It looks like the Windows 10 'Creators Update' has broken the ASUS SmartGesture software.

1) Go to Control Panel > Programs and Features > Remove 'ATK Package' (Don't reboot *YET*)
2) Go to Control Panel > Programs and Features > Remove 'ASUS Smart Gesture'
3) Reboot
4) Install the ATK Package: http/dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/nb/Apps_for_Win10/ATKPackage/ATKPackage_Win10_64_VER100050.zip?_ga=2.64788397.361145871.1494792789-1856848881.1488290836
5) Reboot
6) Install the ASUS SmartGesture Software: http/dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/nb/Apps_for_Win10/SmartGesture/SmartGesture_Win10_64_VER4016.zip?_ga=2.232880350.1797051752.1494791854-1856848881.1488290836
7) Reboot

Voila! Please note, this worked perfectly for my UX501VW - My touchpad *Was* working but none of the features worked and it was extremely erratic! Hope this helps.
