Bluetooth "not connected"

I have a maingear laptop (MSI) and my bluetooth is enabled and the drivers are up to date, and device status says "This device is working properly". However, under network connections the Bluetooth Network Connection always says "not connected" even though it is clearly there and i connot use it to find other bluetooth devices or vice versa. any help would be nice.

I think you need to enable the "Discovery" option on your laptop's BT device settings.
If that's not enabled it can't search for other BT devices.

That's not it. i already have that selected, as well as "allow bluetooth devices to connect to this computer"

You also have to set your bluetooth device to discovery mode.
