Can I my mp3 music through a pioneer sa -1480 amp I recently inherited?

I recently came into possession of an old pioneer sa -1480 amp with a pair of beautiful Kenwood kl 777x 200 watt speakers. It came with a tx 1080z receiver. Everything works great. The sound is incredible. I'd love to play my digital music files on the system through my mp3 player. Is this possible?

It would depend on what outputs your MP3 player has. You could probably use the headphone output if that is the only choice.

i have plugged in many an mp3 player by the headphone jack. it should have the input for that to work. then simply control the volume on the amp.

Would this be done using a cable/wire with a standard headphone plug on one end and red and black input plugs on the other?

whatever connections you need on the other end is fine. some amps have a 3.5 mm input just like the headphone jack. just check what kind of input you need and get a cable with that one the other end
