The spot where the monitor connector is connected to the motherboard on my laptop has tape on it.
Is it still OK to remove it? Why are some connectors or spots on the MoBo taped, in the first place?

About re-taping:
Is this some kind of specialty tape and I should use the same to retape or will some other tape also do it?
What if the glue isn't good any more and it won't stick? Can I find replacements somewhere?
