Can only watch 1 tv at a time

Ok, I have a direct tv dish on a tripod connected to a cable on the outside of the house. Inside, there is a splitter with 5 connections. The house has 4 outlets that each has a cable connector. I can get programming on 1 tv, when I try to connect another tv with a different DVR it makes the other tv cut out.
I disconnected two other cable cords from the splitter but it didn't help. What cAn I do to get 2 tv's going at the same time?

Sounds to me you need a POWERED splitter, otherwise known as a booster.
