Connecting with ethernet takes all the speed.

We have 4 laptops in the house. one of them has weak wifi capacity, so we connect it to the router using ethernet cable. But the problem is that when we do that, all the three other laptops that connect by using wifi, get very slow internet connection, and the one using ethernet get great speed. Once we disconnect the ethernet cable, speed go back to normal to all 3 laptops.

My router is technicolor tg582n.

Please help me solve this annoying problem.

Hi,

Are you downloading something some the other PC that is connected directly to the router? In theory, yes the one that is connected hardwired will always be faster that those which are connected over wifi. Do try a power cycle with the router and see if the same problem will persist or not.

nobody downloading anything. and it's not just faster a little bit, no, it makes other computers unbeleavable slow, cant even watch a 720p youtube video. Although I have very fast internet connection from my internet provider. and I trird a power cycle for the router and for all the computers. same thing.

That unit has poor reviews on Amazon. Get a different modem/router.
