Twice now I have received Dell's 8-beep Display error when trying to boot my Inspiron 15R laptop. Both times it was after I closed the laptop and traveled with it. Both times I fixed it by removing the battery.
POST tests, once the problem is resolved, don't show an error.
I can't seem to reproduce it, but am concerned it's going to die permanently and some inconvenient moment.
I wouldn't think it's the display or the adapter itself, since the problem has only occurred twice. Maybe an internal cable?
Any thoughts? I know there are plenty of how-to's for disassembling the Inspiron, but I hesitate to do that unless I have something specific in mind.
Thanks.
