Dell Inspiron 5559 core i7 laptop won't start (white and orange lights)

When I push the power button, my laptop doesn't start. But the battery light flashes. White light flashes 7 times and orange light flashes 2 times.. ant this goes on and on..after like 2 minutes it beeps(only once)

My laptop is only 6 month old. Help!!!

Try booting from an install or repair disc and doing a repair option. If that doesn't work, I'd post in the Dell forum here: http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/laptop/ . I have an Inspiron 5559 about the same age as yours, but haven't had boot problems (or any other serious problems for that matter). I hope you have a full system backup; if not it could be time to save your data and restore to factory settings.

According to dell after reading your description of the lights behavior your battery is either not seated properly or needs replacing.

That is for a Dell Latitude, but the OP said he has an Inspiron. However he talks about battery lights which my Inspiron 5559 doesn't have, so I believe he needs to clarify what he has.

I had the same problem. I called Dell support and they had to replace the motherboard. The guy on the phone said "it is a known issue" but it took him a long time to find the answer.
