My keyboard will let me put in my PIN number but once the computer has loaded the keyboard doesn't work. Mouse works and no other issues.

Don't know what OS you are using so can't give exact steps but it sounds like you may have enabled filter keys.

Therefore, investigate how to turn off filter keys for your installed OS (which you should be able to achieve as the mouse is still working) and then if that works do some more investigative work as to why it turned on for your OS and/or particular Dell computer model so you can try to avoid accidentally enabling filter keys again in future.

I think it is running 10. It's my daughter's computer that she uses for school. It's a Dell Inspiron 11 3162 I think.

Again you should be able to achieve this just with the use of the working mouse.
