Hello hive mind-

The stats:

Dell Latitude 5590
8 gig RAM

From the story I was told, is that the user was typing on the system and the laptop just shut off. It has never started again.

I have tested the power cord and block. It is reading the right volts. I have already replaced the power jack, just in case.

I have also installed a new battery with a battery replacement cable.

I have also tried pulling the batteries, both CMOS battery and regular battery to reset the system.

Everything is still a no go. It seems like the system is not getting power.

Suggestions please. And thank you.

No. It wasn't.

Is there any way of testing the motherboard?

Is it worth replacing the motherboard?

Thanks for your insight.
There really isn't a way for you to test the motherboard. Dell could, but not something an end-user can do aside from swapping in a working one.

The worth question depends on the cost of replacement of the motherboard or the entire system.

Googling (dell latitude 5590 motherboard) provided info for motherboards as little as $29.99.

If you are doing the swap, it might be worth a fix for less than $50.
