Hi Guys,

To my horror I tried to use my xps 15 today only to discover it was completely dead. I had tried to charge it through usbc for the first time before turning it on which may or may not be related

I have tried:
pressing the power button (obviously lol). With and without AC adapter
LED battery indicator doesn’t show any lights
D+ power button for LED test, nothing happens
A different ac adapter
Removed battery and connect ac adapter
Left battery removed for a few minutes and tried to turn on

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Solution

I used a generic usb c cable with a 20w adapter which was foolish.

I have now fixed this by resetting the cmos battery on the motherboard, the laptop is now charging and booting normally. Phew!
