I have been downloading video file off of the internet-they are divx files. I have tried burning them using nero make-dvd mode so that one movie takes up the whole dvd, I have tried burning several to the same dvd. they seem to freeze on both my pc and the burned dvd which I have tried to play in several players including my new xvid player (even after conversion using fourcc. What is the problem? is anyone having this issue? Is it the downloads?
Thx

Solution
could be many things...packed bitstream, VBR audio, interlaced MPEG 4....DIVX compatible DVD players all follow a pretty strict standard and if your encoding settings are not correct, it won't play or it will only play partially before locking up.

The DIVX support site is a good place to start for help...
