Dropped it from about 1 to 2 feet. It was turned on when it fell, immediately after falling it powered off, after which it won't turn on. I'm sure that the problem is not in the HD, since it doesn't even turn on, let alone finish bios to give the "Operating system not found" message. I have tried booting up without battery using charger. I left it over night without battery and charger to leave it ESD (as I have a malfunctioning power button that I can't hold down to discharge). I have checked the CPU (no bent pins or broken socket). The GPU is soldered so nothing to worry about. The two ram sticks don't seem to be damaged. Every time i press the power button, the power and charging lights (which are normally what will light up when holding down the pw. button) light up, and instantly go off when the button is released. Except for the light there is nothing else happening, no fans spinning, no display, no sound, nothing... Except for once this morning when it actually turned on and gave the OS not found msg(since I booted without HD). After a few seconds it turned off.
Hope I have given enough info
Thanks
My laptop is a vaio vpceh 35 en
Edit: it was connected to a external monitor and was charging so it didn't hit the ground in full force, the fall was slowed down in the end by the cables. There is no physical damage, externally. Internally too as far as I can tell.
