finding date of a downloaded photo

Hi! How do I find out when a photo was taken. Photo was download from mobile/ camera and email to me. Tried the properties but it only has modified date. Tried IrfanView too. Thanks

Is there any EXIF data associated? You might try here

If not, the only way is to ask the original person who took it.

That is the problem, I am disputing the alleged date.

That is the problem, I am disputing the alleged date.

The EXIF data is the only way that I know of, and even that can be edited.
