Get sounds out on tv rca jacks

I have a Samsung Flat screen TV, andI want to hook up and stereo system using RCA audio plugs. But my TV's audio output doesn't work. And I went to the TV menu and it's not allowing me to activate the TV's audio output. Where it says, "Audio Video Output" it says this: ----- And I have my aaudio connections from the TV to the stereo input, and the stereo system is on, but no response from the TV. TV only plays sounds from the TV speakers.

Without the model number of the TV I can't give you a specific answer.
RCA analog outputs are rare on TVs so you may have connected to an input rather than output.
If the TV has a headphone jack you can use that.
The most common audio output on TVs is digital optical audio. One of these will convert it to analog for you.

You may have to turn the audio output on, the TV speaker off, and change the audio type in the TV menu to get it to work.
