My laptop has a Quadro NVS 5100M 1GB w/ latest drivers based on the GT330M DX10.1
i5 M520 dual core w/HT @2.4GHz
4GB DDR3
Win 7 64
OS on SSD

problem with firefox 32/64, cyberfox, chrome and IE

Netflix with HTML5 = whole computer including mouse freezing every second then stops freezing when I close the tab with netflix playing on it

Netflix with Silverlight = works fine

Also I recently reinstalled windows fresh for the SSD and it doesn't help.

Why would HTML5 freeze my computer? Youtube uses it and it works fine. I've been using an older browser separately just for netflix that still uses silverlight to make it work.

I can't afford to replace my laptop now so replacing my ancient computer isn't a good answer. I have a desktop but I'm not moving it to use while on couch. I don't have a smart TV. I use a 30" 2560x1600 monitor to watch TV :p

Solution
Try to find an error code or warning. This will give you a better idea of what exactly is happening.

1. Open the Event Viewer logs and see what you can find.

2. You can also use the WIN + R keys and type "perfmon /rel" in the Open box.

This will then open a calendar listing of errors. Look for "red circles" and click them. You should then see details about the error. Then match the error times to the Netflix crashes.
