Hi electronicians
i ve got the MSI GX720 laptop with a brooken dc power jack( 5 pins ). Ok i removed the faulty one ,and i bought a new 5 pins dc power jack it fits great.
the only problem is the middle pin (positive +) on the motherboard is LOST :( the other 4 pins ( negative ground ) still there .
Question how can i find with a multimeter a trace of the ( positive +) on the motherboard.
thanks in advance for any ideas , sorry 4 my eng.

Hi, I think the problem is you lost the round part where the positive pin from the DC jack must be soldered. You will have to solder a wire from your positive pin to the trace where the power is going to. The trace will be cover with a green paint, you will have to remove the green paint from a part of the trace, this will give you a place to solder the wire.
You can go to this site, it will explain what to do better than me : http://billmaudio.com/wp/?page_id=204
