Home Audio system for my MP3 players

All my music is now on "the cloud". I no longer have the house stereo cd systems booming in my basement. So - what's the best option for playing this music from my smartphone or laptop at home. . . No portable system is likely to have the quality to rival my old surround sound systems? Puzzelled that I am not seeing anything really - maybe I am looking in the wrong place!

Just feed line out off your source to an amp + floor standers perhaps? Used market is an option here as well? For music stick to a 2 channel set up as surround for the same $$ wouldn't be as musical ^^
