How can I convert a DVD to mp3?

I have a DVD movie that has a bunch of songs. It's a concert DVD, so you can play through the whole show or select whatever song you like.

All I want is the mp3 so I can listen to the music in my car.

When I open the file on the computer, there isn't really anything to convert on the actual DVD. No movie clips, nothing.

I see people who have taken certain songs with the video and put it on youtube.

So there must be a way to get that and then just make it mp3.

thanks for the response but I actually had to try a lot of programs.

The one I found that worked was one called handbrake. many professional programs could not read my DVD.
