Hey, all! I am looking for help from you audio tech's and PC tech's out there!
-Monitor: Asus vg248qe 144 Hz
-Receiver: Denon 5.1 setup
-GPU: Radeon RX480
-My motherboard does not have S/SDFI
-Window 10 64 bit
I want to set up a gaming PC with 5.1 surround sound and monitor with 144Hz refresh rate.
I have 2 options right now:
1. Monitor connected to GPU via DVI, the receiver connected to GPU via HDMI. Then duplicated screen.
2. Use HDMI to connect with the receiver, then connect the receiver with Monitor using HDMI.
But both of them can not use 144 HZ, only 60 Hz.
Is there a better solution for me?

Thanks in advance for your time!

I tried to use the motherboard's HDMI, but no sound.
I sacrificing my GPU's HDMI for audio but it will become the 2nd screen, so I have to duplicate it. SO there is no 144Hz refresh rate.

If you extend your desktop to the AV receiver instead of duplicating output, you would be able to run the different outputs each with their own refresh rate, though you end up with a second display that has no actual display which could be a bit confusing if the mouse pointer gets over there or Windows decides to pop new windows on it.
