how do i get sound when u connect ur laptop to tv using a hdmi i also have to move the screen onto the tv

its driving me mad i use to beable to connect to tv using hdmi cable just by plugging it in, my computer got switched off by accident, now when i plug the cable in the screen goes massive on lap top and tv and there is only sound on laptop and not on tv can any one help

Go into sound control panel and set default audio to hdmi instead of laptop.
