My Toshiba laptop is showing a black screen and there is a massage saying that

Reboot and Select proper Boot Device
or Insert Boot Media In selected boot device and press a key

help me i have no idea what to do

Solution
It means the the Laptop cannot find a disk with an operating system on it to boot up.
Enter the BIOS and make sure the drive is showing up and listed in the boot order.
When this error occurs though, it usually means the hard drive has failed mechanically.
I suggest you take it to a shop and have it checked.

Press the ESC key on bootup. This should allow you to access the BIOS setting and press the F2 key, check the boot order, you hard drive should be first. If you dropped the laptop you may have damaged the hard drive.
