I am getting two monitors soon for music production. According to their specs each one has a 1/4inch input and a XLR input on the back. My sound card has inputs for 3 3.5mm. It supports up to 7.1. I've got a pretty simple soundcard with 3.5mm jacks with 3 outputs and 1 input.
Should I get 3.5mm to 1/4inch adapters and then connect with a normal 3.5mm cable from the speaker to my soundcard? And should I use mono 3.5mm to 1/4 inch adapters or stereo. ( I think it would make sense to use mono as I would be connecting one speaker per one cable).
The monitors come with 6mm cables and have XLR and TRS inputs
The speakers that I am getting are JBL LSR305.
My current sound card is Creative SB0670
Any help or input is much appreciated
