How to start hdmi on toshiba laptop

My Toshiba has a HDMI output connector but I cannot find a way to select or activate it. I installed the HDMI manager from Toshiba but it only tels me to activate the HDMI port. I just don't no how

Try fn+f5.

Selecting the port is not the probem. The port is not visible for the system, only the lcd (laptopscreen) is visible under Fn F5
