I am having trouble instaling win 7 on my asus laptop.......i have the orig. win 7 install disc and when i try to boot i get the blue screen of death:
"A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to perent damage to your computer.
If this is the first time you're see this stop erre screen, restart your computer.
If this screen aapears again, follow these steps:
The BIOS in this system is not fully ACPI complaint.
PLease contact your system vendor for on updated BIOS."

Ive tried everyting on the forums....i think its case sensitive for each asus laptop to laptop......Thanks in advance.

cant install win7 on my asus X751 MD


ive tried most of the advice on the forums:

Check ASUS support website for BIOS updates for your specific laptop model.
Read carefully how to apply the update (instructions will either be on the download page or included with the downloaded update package.
 
Are you sure you're actually booting from the DVD? It sounds like you're booting to your existing installation of Windows.

If you're definitely not booting into the existing installation, and if your DVD is okay (not scratched or over used), it could be faulty RAM that needs replaced.
